1) MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE
Multiple intelligence assessments allow for the teacher to assess each student's strengths and weaknesses. These assessments should be taken early in the year so that the teacher will have an idea of the dynamic of the student's personalities. This assessment can also help the teacher determine the best course of action to appeal to the students and plan for an effective mode of instruction.

Performance assessments have the advantage of being able to provide clear evidence of students' achievements. In addition, they are useful for a wide range of classroom activities, including essays, science projects, public speaking, and multimedia projects. Performance assessment is an excellent method for addressing skills at the higher levels of Bloom's taxonomy. (From: http://fcit.usf.edu/assessment/performance/assessa.html)

3) CHECKLIST, LEARNING LOGS, JOURNALS
These forms of assessment allow for reflection to occur. A checklist helps the teacher assess what are the capabilities of the student, but to also measure the amount of work completed by the student. The results allow for the teacher to determine where the student stands as compared to his peers.
A learning log allows for students to make connections with what hey have learned and what they have accomplished. With a learning log, students create for themselves a portfolio in the form of a collage. It is a great tool to showcase students work.
A journal allows for the student to personally reflect on the content of what was learned or what needs clarification. A journal allows a student to use his metcognitive abilities to confirm what he has learned. The teacher can also learn how a student thinks, which is good information to have to help shape instruction.
4) MATRIX & RUBRICS
Matrices and rubrics provide for specific points to measure each student with. When shared with the students, they are able to take control of their grade by complying with the listed requirements.

Interviews and conferences with the students allow for a teacher to get intimate knowledge in regards to their academic performances. These talks can help the teacher better understand the needs of each student to better shape instruction and activities performed in the classroom.
These sources provide a prompt for students so when a conference takes place, the student will be able to interact with the teacher.
7) TEACHER-MADE TESTS
